If i want to safely and properly lower my stang. What should i do? Its at stock height and i have 17's on it. tires are 245/45/17's.

also what size wheel spacers should i get to fill the wheel wells

Get something 1.5" or under if you want to avoid buying CC plates, anything more than that and you'll need them too get your car aligned. The kits on AM tell you how much your car will be lowered with them. If youre cutting them I'd say 1 coil all around with iso's. Get new shocks either way though

^ your v6 is pretty sexy btw.
And cut springs aren't bad. If you do it right.

I've heard people say that their friends wrecked because they cut their springs and they malfunctioned in some way.

Personally, I'd buy springs because I don't know anything about cutting them and to be honest it's better to buy some items and not worry about saving money. (freemods)

im in the same boat and im going to cut mine, i mean its only an inch, its not like your cutting off 2 in...and dont use a cutting wheel, when cutting, its heats up the coil, and it will cause it to loose the "spring"...but yeah an 1in or so wont hurt anything lol...but thats just my call, and as you can see 6er has done it to both of his stangs, and i have read that many people have done it...when i do it, and if i dont like it i can always buy new ones lol =)

awesome, glad to know i can use an angle grinder, cause i hate using the sawsall, im a pro with my angle grinder lol...i just read somewhere that it would heat it up and ruin the "boing" lol...but alrighty if you have used a grinder, im going the same rout lol

quad post FTW lol...but in all honesty your going the easy way out and there's not much fun in that :dunno

but in the end it's up to you to either use that money on springs or something for the engine

you won't need C&C plates with a 1.5" drop..

Plan on getting CC plates but hold off till they get it aligned. You never know if you will or not just some extra precaution. I have a 1.5"F and 1"R and am happy with it, i ease up around bumps and swerve some but its worth it. If you do cut your spring or get lowering springs get the shocks and struts to since you will have it all disassembled for you.

Not as low as 6er but it works for my roads. Plus you can see where my exhaust is. I have steeda comp springs.

Not so bad with the stock 16s with rear 1.5" spacers. ;)

....I'm still running stock shocks and struts though..... :) so far it hasn't given me any problems with my car being low and all (it'd been 4 yrs now!)... But when the day comes that I have to change them, I'll def. go for tokico blues.

6er - yeah thats what i was thinking, i know it shouldnt be a pain, i just had an itch about doing so, but after reading all this dosent seem real bad...but let me know when you find that write up lol

ahoboscheese - i hope it dosent take 4 hours lol, where is it best to start, i was thinking of doing the rear first and put it back together, and do the front the next day, i only get a chance to work on my car at night lol, luckily i have a garage and some nice lights

do the front first lol if you have to take 2 days...i've had to do this before and you'd be better off not driving with the front lifted and the back lowered.

btw...drive for a few days before getting it aligned so the springs have time to settle

Tokico HP (blues) go good with the Eibach Prokit springs, are relatively cheap in price. If you'll just be on the streets with a DD I suggest those. To do it completely right I also suggest CC plates, but if you wait on them and get an alignment you may be alright. I can't see my car driving very well without them and I have the same spring/strut combo, only I have 18" wheels.

You can always add c/c plates later if you're trying to save some dough.

The only thing about cutting springs is doing it when you have no idea what you're doing. That's when it comes out real shitty. I've seen some terrible outcomes...
