N2MB WOT box causing misfire

Recently installed my WOT box about 2 months ago and hit the track this past weekend. Everything on the box works as it should, but I always noticed it would start to misfire if I held the 2step for too long (about 3 seconds or more to build boost). At first, I 2stepped it just to make sure it works and let it come back down to idle when I noticed the car running terribly and misfiring with a no read on my wideband. After about 5 seconds, it cleared up and went back to normal. I thought that was weird and I figured once I actually launch with it and get more air into the engine it will be fine. Nope. Went to launch it at the track and held it for about 3-4 seconds to make 5-6psi off the line and it was misfiring til about the 1000ft when it finally cleared up. If I only hold it for a short period of time (1-2 seconds) it will be completely fine, but i make hardly any boost to launch off of. I never had this problem with my MSD 2step. Am I the only one who has had this problem? It is a turbo car.

Hmm, that seems weird. I wonder if you're following the plugs then clears up after some high rpm and burning the carbon off

Is it throwing a code? Curious if it's throwing a cylinder x misfire. Or maybe your coils are getting weak.

Good luck with it though, want to see some more track times. That car rolls out retarded

I've spoken to N2MB, but he doesn't seem to have an answer for me just yet. I'm not sure if it's throwing a code (cel is always on for something we can't tune out). It's just odd that I seem to be the only person to have this issue. If it were fouling out plugs, you'd think others would have the same problem.

I have had my n2mb module since I was supercharged, and now im turbocharged. But i have a return fuel system now which puts out way more fuel than before. I never had any problems with miss firing after when i was supercharged, i could hold it for 10 seconds no problem. Now that i have a bigger fuel system and turbocharged ,if i hold it more that 2-3 seconds it starts missing like its fouling plugs.. Then it clears up in like 5-8 seconds.
I have no idea how to fix this issue.

Yup. We are having the same problems with almost identical setups

Never had this issue with my MSD

Wow - glad I saw this. I was thinking of getting one and I basically have a similar setup. Return style, pretty big, on E85. I really want to get a 2-step though. Hope you all figure out a fix. Subscribed!

I have a vortech on a full return system and don't have any issues. However I don't ever hold it on the 2-step more then 2-3 sec, because it instantly builds boost at whatever rpm it's set at.

I sent him another email telling him that you are having the same issue and you got a random misfire code from it. Waiting on his response. I swore I read somewhere that you have to disable that code.

Well, got a response back from him and he stated that some of the 5th gen Mustangs (referring to the 2005+ I believe) had to have the random misfire code(s) disabled and that fixed it. He also gave me a link to an older version of the software to try out that "might have been better tuned for the Mustang". Unfortunately, my car is down til next season so I'll have to try these things out when its back up and running again.
