Supercharger whine

Hey guys, I am thinking about getting a 2008 Mustang GT that has a Roush supercharger in it, I think it's a M90 but I am not sure yet. My first question is, is there a way to stop a supercharger from whining, or at least make it less noticable?
I know a lot of people like that sound, I however find it annoying; but I would like the added power benefit that comes with a supercharger. I have not heard it run or drive yet, but I have listened to a ton of online videos of people's cars that have roush 'chargers on them and some of them whine really loud and others you can barely hear, why is that? Any useful information is appreciated, thanks.

Well the M90 screams pretty good. Loud exhaust is about the only way to not hear it, or a really bumpin' stereo. You gotta remember though, anything that is machined so closely, spinning high RPM's, is gonna whine. Your intake is going to effect that a little bit but not a whole lot.

I used to run timing gears in place of a chain on some motors. Those would always scream and you could hear them over just about any engine or exhaust noise.

Bigger Pulley size will reduce the noise, but then why buy a M90 equipped Mustang.

I think i would be depressed if my SC stopped playing it's music. Every morning I anticipate getting her up to temp so I can get her to sing.

I love that sound.

I do too. I actually liked when I welded in cats and I could here the whine just a little bit before the exhaust overcame it. But the cats are coming off this week so the lovely scream of the SC will disappear again.:(

This. M90 is a screamer. I happen to love that sound, BTW.

My TVS is quiet.

like other people said get rid of the cats you wont notice it and the car will sound bad ass! and if all else fails get the car and sell the blower to me for a couple hundred bucks and the tvs

I have off road X-pipes and the Outlaw axleback from Flowmaster. Loudest, badest, meanest sounding exhaust I could find. But I still get that blessed screaming from the 2.3L TVS anytime she's over 7 psi. Best sound in the world next to my daughter laugher.
