Hey man, what you want to do is admirable. Like you said, your not concerned about resale value, your keeping the car which is totally cool.

As far as the technical aspects of doing this, the guys are not trying to keep you down as far as your ideas went. Its just that it would cost a fortune to do what you want to do and do it right.

You would have a hell of a lot of money in a car that would not be reliable, would never handle like a GT, run like a GT, or give you the pure satisfaction of a GT. Because its a poser, and allways will be.

And I know money is hard to come by, but no kidding you would be money ahead to trade that six banger for a new GT and be done with it! I wouldnt waste 2 cents on turbo charging your six cylinder Stang. You obviously want V-8 power, go get it man. :pimp

On modularfords website, there's a regular poster running a 10.9 @ 122 mph for the 1/4 in an 05+ mustang V6...it's turbocharged. How many GTs can make that claim?

GT's

Not a single one I know about. There is no dought of the potential of the V-6, but its a V-6! I bet you can find a four banger that runs 10's someplace, but would you want to drive it every day? Could you drive it every day?

And look at the money and parts needed to get into the 10's with allmost any engine. Personally, I would rather start out with "The Right Stuff"........a GT and then go crazy building that. I'm guessing because I havent read the post of the 10 second V-6 your talking about, that it is highly HIGHLY modified with everything you can get internally and externally in and on the engine. I just cant afford that, and I wouldnt want to drive it cross country with out a road crew to pick me up off the road with a scattered little six banger dangling from everywhere under the car.

I did pick an extreme example to be sure. I'm not sure I would want to drive my car long-distance anymore. After 1 year, it only has 7200 miles, but that's mostly because it's spent almost as much time 5 feet in the air as on the ground.

Bad ass Hood man!!

Is your car the 10 second six? It looks like a GT, or has at least the grill. That hood is awsome!! I bet it cost a bunch, but man it looks great..I want one bad.

With the stuff you have in your car, I bet you do spend a lot of time airborne! Can you post some video, so I can see and "hear" what a full race six sounds like? Got anything on U Tube? I am managing very very low 13's and once got a squeeker 12, but have no idea what 10 seconds feels like, you lucky dog!

NO...it's not me. The car is an 06 GT. I cannot claim a 10 second 1/4 yet...although theoretically the car should be there... this season. Last season best time was very high 11s with a Procharger and DRs...everything else stock. This season should be much quicker...emphasis on the should be.

When I said 5 foot in the air, I meant up on a rack as in being worked on...lol

Thanks

Well I really appreciate your taking the time and all to explain things to me. Do you have pics posted of your car under hood and under the car its self? I would like to see how the modifications look and fit on our cars.

And I STILL think that hood you have is sweet.. Is it fiberglass? And as far as the 5 feet in the air goes, I had my head in Need For Speed Most Wanted where I have seen some BIG air in my GT I have built in my game playing on line with friends. I include pics of my real car and my "someday" car in NFS.

Thanks again, and if you can email some pics or how ever I would like to see how to build a strong Stang for the future. All the best to ya...

pm me an email adress. I've got loads of inside and underneath pics as car was going through its evolution. Alas, I don't know much about how it all works...not very mechanically inclined. I even have someone do the hardcore track driving. But I'm learning a little more everyday.

Now 05mustang_kb_charged, who posts quite a bit on here. He's knows his stuff and he knows my car. He put the FB Performace race transmission in it.

ive seen someone stick a 5.4L s/c in a v6. its possible and its not as stupid as it sounds. calling me BS? BOOOOOYAH! Found the pixs

I've seen it too, it was never said to be impossible(I least I didn't)... its just that the amount of work and the price you have to pay for it to make it work correctly is really hard to justify.

i never said u sed that i sed its impossible... i think? i just said its possible

Thanks to guy who posted the linked to the v6 converted to 460 ci big block balls out power. The video rocked, nothing sounds better than a big block with cutouts. Also thanks to the who posted the silver 06 v6 converted to 5.4l s/c that was great too. I'm going to touch base with shop from your for so info. I know you GT crowd aren't interested in my puny pony but I hope to post pics soon. Technical advice always welcome criticism not so much. lol I know it sounds crazy but it would be cool.

That would be cool! I know that there are others who are doing it, one guy in Savannah, GA bought a wrecked GT from an insurance company and swapped the driveline and suspension he didn't have more than $5,000 in it (as far as the swap was concerned) he did a lot of other mods
i forget them all but he showed me chasis dyno sheet that showed 500rwhp. That car would go.

so he added some forced induction?
