What Did You Do To Your Sixxer Today?

Over the weekend logged 1300mi and 25+ hours in my sixer. Never thought I'd be driving a manual straight six as a DD. Even managed to survive stop and go traffic in Cleveland with it. :crazy I also got 17-18mpg for the trip. Not too shabby for a heavy duty truck.

Unfortunately the thing is just covered in dirt and bugs from the trip.
There is soooo much money to be spent on the damn thing. Mudflaps, side steps, toolbox, headache rack, Line-x, rust inhibitor...and that's all before the fun stuff. All that could have been money going to the stang. Feels bad, man.

On the bright side, with the new found cargo space in my turbo diesel tank, I brought home my 03 Cobra seats and a new quarterpanel. :bubba:

Cant take them off :( Fishing line works PERFECTLY and is real easy but got one halfway cut through and I pulled it back gently to see the paint and the paint underneath them is all cracked and peeling off so Id have to get the doors repainted which I dont feel like paying for right now. Gonna have to find some molding tape to reattach the first part, shoulda started at the back instead of the front, kind of afraid the wind will catch it and yank it off

Ya that tape isn't always nice to paint. Sorry man. Could be worse, I tried to pull moldings on my truck, and the stuff had become quite literally rock hard. All is lost there lol

Any idea if a body shop would be able to sand down and repaint just under and around where its cracked? And if so how much? The more I see all your cars without them the more I hate them lol I know repainting the whole door would be out of my price range. Im trying to buy go fast mods instead of visual stuff first

I'm pretty sure they're gonna want to paint the whole door... Might not come out looking even with the rest of the door...

I don't even understand why Ford came up with this stupidest idea...

Seems that the sliders got wet and rusted shut so the caliper never slid like its supposed to. end result is the piston engaging and never going back in and it spitting out what was left on the highway when I tried to stop.

Today I changed my gear oil after breaking in my 3.73 gears and T-LOK.
I used 75-90w Royal Purple.

I think someone needs to make a Windstar FAQ sticky.

Tore the other side of my exhaust off today. Looks like I need to go put on some real exhaust tomorrow

How do you rip off tail pipes all the time? my tail pipes hit my axle when i hit bumps and they havent broke off.

That's what I had on there. Divorced dumped 2.5" Cherry Bomb Turbo muff's....I highly suggest NOT doing it. I have a Pypes X and GT cat-back with Flow's 40's welded in waiting to get put on....I'm just lazy i guess.

I'm planning on taking my heads off Friday evening after work, then finishing the other head Saturday. Then I'll take the heads to the machine shop Monday.

Thought about this. My buddy since grammar school is in his residency so he said he'd hook me up, but also warned that it just helps you get away with it.. Doesn't prevent you from getting pulled over... don't wanna deal with that :bash:
