Just under went my first round using a polisher ever. Finally got the GG out. It's 25~ degrees here but between a couple sets of lights and a hair dryer everything went on great and came off great. This thing really is extremely easy to use, I am so happy I bought it.

On friday I will be purchasing a membership to Detailers Club so I can get some real products for the job at hand BUT I couldn't wait any longer to use this thing.

First off I went to Lowes after work tonight and bought a couple spray bottles since I would need them for the IPA and waterless wash + (Thanks again Vader)

Products:
I had warm soapy water in the bucket to wash my pads
Megs UC/D151
Mothers Clay
CGs Speed Wipe (Clay Lube)
IPA
BFWDPS
Waterless Wash +
Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Wax (meh?)
Cyan/Tangerine/Crimson Hydrotech Pads

I posted a picture earlier as to what it looked like before I did anything to it. I really didn't realize how bad it was until I took the spoiler off and looked at it under the lights today.

Pictures of the process.

All the afters are with 1 application of bfwdps and 1 application of souveran wax. I am extremely happy as to how it turned out. I only did my trunk tonight partly because of the products I am currently using. I wanted to learn how to use and be comfortable with the polisher.

There still are some small imperfections here and there which I will be getting out but I will be purchasing some better compounds/polishes before I do the rest of the car and finish off the trunk.

I'm extremely happy with the bfwdps. I can't believe how far such a small amount will go. I wasted some of my sample tonight using too much product. That stuff goes a long ways. The souveran wax didn't blow my mind or anything. It was easy on and easy off. Waxing a car with this polisher is going to go sooooo much faster. The wax was ok, I don't think it brought anything to the car nxt 2.0 didn't mind you I'm not driving it and testing the durability of it either. I don't think NXT 2.0 is a showstopper but I don't feel like souveran is either.

All in all about 4 hours spent learning, playing with and mostly finishing my trunk while talking to my wife/buddy who joined me for a while in the ridiculously cold weather. I will be buying m105/205 or some of the V series products from CG or something before I do the rest of the car. UC seemed like good stuff and it got out sooooo much but I would like to get it all out.
congrats on leveling up!
I don't care for liquid souveran spray wax either
bfwdps is great
uc is good but I always stick with 105/205
those are pretty godo 50/50s, if you could of got them straight on that'd be better though, DD always post examples of good 50/50s
so what'd you think of the beast? (gg)

What do you guys do for regular washes? I do the occasional waxing, detailing, but most of the time just do a quick wash with turtle wax ICE soap.

I'm a new mustang owner, and interested in keeping the car looking great. Any detail tricks for a newbie?

Dont use any turtle products. Stick with meguiars, if your not purchasing anything online

Hey guys, I'm gonna ask for a gg for Christmas and saw that there are a couple different packages...can yall recommend me one? I need the link so I can send it out. Thanks guys!
you should get the one that detailers domain has on sale for 40 off because of the damaged box, otherwise I'd call autogeek today extension 215 talk to nick and see if he'll get you hooked up with a $75 polisher..

Snowing here :( any tips on getting the snow off without damaging the car?

Use water bro. Not warm water, just regular temp, should melt the snow off without cracking your windows or anything lol. Hot water can do that to glass when its cold. But just normal cool water should get the stuff off.

thanks, I'll do this when it stops snowing for good! Kind of happy I have a way to do it now. Last year I left it on and hoped it would melt so it ended up freezing over the surface. What a biotch that was to get off. Made me cringe. Paint came out OK though.

reppss

And yeah my tongue is ready
