There is really no need for pb blaster or a torch. I can't imagine that you screwed up and let corrosion form on that bolt. Thus, neither are needed. You will aneal the aluminum of your heads before you soften the steel with the torch.

Most screws are fairly cheap steel so, easy outs made for screws are not hard enough. You can always call a snap on dealer. He will have what you need if you cant find it elsewhere but, it will be pricy.

make sure you keep metal particles out from when you drilled...i'd change your oil after she's up and running again. Good luck man. You'll make that thing your bitch soon enough with your persistance

well any updates?
I tried for like 10 minutes to get it out with the extractor and it wouldn't budge, the extractor would start spinning in the bolt, so I'm just gunna keep trying I guess lol

Is it possible to get a good pic of it so we can see exactly what you're dealing with?

you've been fighting it for this long. don't give up now. you need to get that extractor to bite harder!

did you put threadlocker on that bolt before you broke it?

Tap it in very lightly with a hammer and I mean lightly. Don't hit it on an angle or you will break it off in there. Then try. Just to help getting it started

+1

To get the extractor to bite better; tap it, then while you have a little tension turning it keep tapping it lightly to keep the extractor going deeper and getting a better bite. Remember too much turn pressure is not helpful until you have a deep enough bite. I use a combo box wrench to put the turn on it and the wrench is far enough down so I have a clear shot at the extractor head. Keep the tension and the tapping going until you see the bolt turning. I use a drop of whiteout on the bolt where it contacts the extractor so I can see if they move together.

I have also have used a triangle file on broken bolts to help the extractor get a bite.

No reason to give up on this.

^ this I was gonna say this but figure someone would chime in and be like NO< Don't hit it with a hammer whatever you do lol. so I just stuck with saying you neeed it to bite harder

i was having problems getting it to stick, so thats when i started beating it with a hammer lol that was like 2 days ago tho, then i read this haha i tried yesturday again for like 30 minutes when i had the time but couldnt get it to bite, but i didnt try turning, tapping, turning, tapping, etc. So ima try that i im sure itl bite then. ill probly holding it with one hand, turn it with the other, then have someone else tap it. great info tho, i was pretty fed up with it yesturday lol

I push down on it also while turning. It will help a little. Don't beat on it like you said. Just tap. Hardened steel is a pain in the ass when you have to drill it out.

I feel you should post pictures of this hole you have drilled in the bolt and the size of you easy outs. Still the bolt as much as you can without hitting the threads. You don't just drill a little,

this is the best picture i could get. Im a tad bit too much to the right, so i cant use a drill up the next size or ill risk ****ing some **** up. I got a pretty big hole drilled in it anywas, the 1/8 extractor was barely bigger than the bolt. Ill check the size in the morning of the extractor im using, but basically the hole i drilled is big enough to get a little more than half of the extractor into, which is bueno. Its the size down from 1/8, not sure tho.

Man this has turned into a nightmare. Keep striving OP

That picture isn't very clear, but that hole looks a little rectangular, can you take a screw driver and turn it out?
Seriously! That hole looks huge! :shiftyeyes

See if you can get a good screwdriver in there and get that ****er out.

Might be long shot....Does Home Depot sell screws/bolts with a reverse thread. Maybe a self tapping screw?

^ hey thats an idea. a self tapping screw might snap in there though. if you could get a tap set and make some left hand threads in that hole for a left handed thread grade 8 bolt.

No extractor beats the blue point set> Extractor Set, 20 pcs.

It uses a round, sharply ribbed extractor which gets hammered into the bolt and a small adapter slips onto the ribbed shaft which you turn with a wrench or socket. They bite like a mother ****er and do not slip. You'd twist it before it would ever slip. I've been a tech for over 30 years and have tried all extractors. These ones actually work.
